Mudhalvan - Shankar's Master Take On Politics

It's more than 20 years since the release of Mudhalvan but nowhere has the film aged even today

because of the political subject and which is so relevant in the daily life of TN POLITICS! Even now

when the film is telecast in Sun or K TV, FB or Twitter users keep showering their love for the

film through every scene or dialogue!

Mudhalvan also remains Shankar's only Deepavali release to date becoming Super Hit!

Enthiran Indian Mudhalvan - Anyday the top 3 films of Shankar sir's 28 years of cinema career!

(Whichever position you want to give!)

After the marvelous success of JEANS, Shankar takes up a huge subject of POLITICS after

dealing with education in Gentleman and corruption in Indian!

First of all the film is a HUGE risk to make unless you have a hero like RAJINI who was

supposed to do the film! With Rajini backing out, Mudhalvan gave an opportunity to Shankar and

Sujatha showing their guts and fantastic work to remember forever!

Shankar himself producing with his assistant Madhesh was like walking on a tight rope but

came out as a fantastic winner showing his exceptional directorial skills carrying the film on his

shoulders and Sujatha dialogues being another big pillar of the film!

Mudhalvan is one film that threw light on educated people can come into politics and bring

changes when there is a will!

Though the thought of one day mayor, CM, or PM may sound silly to imagine Shankar

succeeded to a huge extent in presenting it so well on the screen with his engaging screenplay

and one or two cinema liberties!

The interview scene will remain one of the unforgettable scenes in Tamil cinema history itself! Such

a massive which makes the audience involved in the scene to imagine this is how an interview has to

be conducted!

Coming to actors, Arjun Raghuvaran Manivannan scores full marks for excelling in their given

roles! All 3 were on top of their form giving their best and Sujatha dialogues killing in every

scene.

Raghuvaran shows why his voice has a separate fan base and delivered a powerful performance

as CM Aranganar after Anthony in Baasha!

Sujatha's dialogues cannot be forgotten which has been a daily life feeder to today's social

media memes & trolls! So many dialogues have gone to be unforgettable one-liners!

Special mention to KV Anand who was brilliant as a cinematographer especially the traffic jam

scene, interview scene, breaking down Arjun house scene, Arjun rising his hand scene, Arjun

house bomb blast scene, and ending road credits - just GOOSEBUMPS even today! We all will

be missing the cinematographer, KV Anand!

AR Rahman as expected everyone knew he was in a dream run from Roja, giving beautiful

albums, and Shankar closed everyone's mouth by shooting all the songs in India and not going

to foreign countries! More than the songs, the BGM was excellent supporting the dialogues and

screenplay! Remembering Mudhalvan BGM makes us feel we are missing the ARR mark BGM

in his recent films!

As far as politics is concerned in TN, Mudhalvan will remain of the best political films ever made

in Tamil cinema! But the biggest question is, will the film be released in today's scenario given how

politics and cinema are interlinked everywhere causing a lack of freedom to the creators!
